Healing Starts Here
I’m a licensed mental health counselor originally from Maryland and based in South Carolina since 2016. My training spans diverse settings, including higher education, community mental health, and private practice, where I’ve worked with adults, couples, adolescents, and families from a wide range of backgrounds. I’ve had the privilege of serving both English- and Spanish-speaking clients and bring a flexible, open-minded presence to my work.
I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, and relational concerns. A significant focus of my practice is supporting individuals and couples navigating relationship dynamics, including ethical nonmonogamy. I am affirming of diverse relationship structures and help clients explore communication, boundaries, attachment patterns, and identity in ways that feel aligned, consensual, and values-driven.
My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in respect for each client’s lived experience. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe to explore both challenges and strengths while working toward meaningful, sustainable change. Whether you’re seeking relief from emotional distress or clarity within your relationships, I’m here to support you in moving toward greater balance, self-understanding, and connection.
Hi! My name is Cara, and I feel passionate about helping my clients gain a greater awareness and acceptance of themselves. My aim is to help each of my clients gain a greater awareness and acceptance of themselves, develop healthy boundaries, practice self-care, and find ways to overcome past and current life struggles.
I work primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults facing a variety of challenges. With children, I use age-appropriate activities, play, creativity, and conversation to help them feel comfortable expressing themselves and developing new skills. With adolescents and adults, we may use conversation, reflection, and practical tools to better understand challenges and work toward their goals.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence-based techniques and tailor my approach to each client's unique needs. We'll work together to build on your strengths, develop coping skills, and make changes that feel meaningful to you.
When engaging in therapy with our team , you can expect us to function collaboratively to identify your concerns and needs, explore what progress would look like for you, and identify and set manageable goals to track your journey to better well-being.
